May 30, 2006 - Dahr speaks with Amy Goodman on Democracy Now about the Haditha Massacre

An internal military investigation has found that U.S. marines killed as many as 24 Iraqis - including women and children - in the city of Haditha on November 19, 2005 and then tried to cover it up. In this video, Amy Goodman speaks with an attorney and researcher at Human Rights Watch, independent journalist Dahr Jamail who spent months unembedded in Iraq, and the bureau chief for Knight Ridder in Baghdad. Not surprisingly, the day after the event, Al Jazeera had the initial report about the Haditha incident more correct than the Western Media. So we need to ask: Does the "cover-up" implicate some Western media sources as well as individuals in the military?
